BEWARE – I have been watching a lot of Craiglist ads from various regions of the country, as well as some tractor web sites and have been shocked by the prices some people ask for their Cub parts and implements. This was a topic amongst a few of us at our latest CubFest. I found one seller wanting $250.00 for a 193 plow. That is just the plow, no depth handle, no dog bone, no eyebolt. Just the plow should bring about $75.00, nowhere near $250.00. A fast hitch trailer hitch was recently listed for $90.00. Average price on those is about $50.00 to $60.00 depending condition. There was a PTO angle drive with the belt pulley for $200.00 that looked like it had never been cleaned. This is double it’s true value. I have seen drawbars with brackets listed for $150.00 and up. Fella’s, there are two listed near me right now for $50.00 and $90.00. Those prices depend if the holes are wallered out. Many of these sellers don’t know the true value of what they have so they ask whatever they “think” it is worth. Other sellers know the value, but they are hoping somebody not aware of the true value will jump on their item. When you are ready to buy, do a price check. A part near you may sound like a deal, but a part farther away may end up cheaper even if you pay shipping. By far, the best place to find what something is worth, or to get rock solid, no bullcrap, repair advice is farmallcub. The guys there know what they are talking about. If they don’t have the answer right away, somebody will find it. I am very glad to see several members of that forum belong to this Facebook group. Before you buy anything you are unfamiliar with or make a repair you are unsure of, I recommend checking them out. I guarantee you will like what you find.
