CODE RED and URGENT! *****AVERAGE RATED and a HELPER DOG!..............A volunteer writes: I love dogs who smile and Spike is certainly one of them. As a matter of fact, despite the fact he is a boy..I call him La Joconde, @ a famous painting of a woman with a mysterious smile....Spike is a young man relinquished into our care as his family counting a child had not time for a pet anymore. He comes with good recommendations and aced his behavioral evaluation at the care center. Spike seems to have been well cared for although he is a bit too thin for my taste. His coat is beautiful, well groomed and silky. He likes very much food but he takes treats gently from my hand and does not steal from my goodies bag. He seems confident and happy, his tail is most often wagging and he makes frequent stops on my lap for kisses and hugs.He is very comfortable with his head resting against my chest. Spike seems to be housetrained as related to us by his former owner. He pulls a little on the street and toward other dogs. He can sit on command and is perfectly fine posing for pictures. I wonder who were Spikes ancestors ? A Pitie, a Hound, a Sharpei and may be more.....What counts really is that Spike is a good looking and sweet dog who likes people company and would love to be your for ever best friend. Come and meet him at the Manhattan Care Center. Spike is waiting for you. #nokillnyc #nyc #newyork #nokill #nycacc #nonycacc #adopt #foster #rescue
