BIBLE STUDY: 12/15/14, Monday: JUDGING SPIRITUALLY & WORKS ( Sorry its long I tried too make it shorter but I have no time, Im at work. Amazing wisdom though! Worth the time to read!) What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. 1 Corinthians 3:5 We are servants with different task. God uses servants to plant seeds and water but God makes it grow. Even though we give, it is only God who is able to make one see that it is him. When we realize this it then becomes something bigger then oneself and humbles one to obey. Even though we have different task every task is to build the same building. Why does a seed need to be planted in the ground? So it may be protected to grow. Before a seed is planted first a hole needs to be made in the ground so the seed could be inserted. In the same way it is with our hearts. In order to allow God to flourish fruit in our lives he must first plant in us his seed. He plants seeds in several of ways. Spoken silent word, biblical word, words he speaks to us through people, objects, circumstances, dreams, visions, etc. First we must have an open unbiased heart. We must not put God in a box. I have found often times he uses the least likely people, the least likely circumstances, in order to reveal to us the omnipotence of his loves power, of his omnipotent power, and to break prejudice paradigms that only damage us and each other. We don’t allow God to deposit the seed he attempts to deposit through different circumstances because we judge unwisely. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand. ROMANS 14:4 The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 First, as we take a step into taking the liberty to judge we must first be clear that it is God who knows all of our hearts therefore if we make a judgment it should be out of the wisdom of God not carnality. If we walk in the carnal perceiving the world around us as the flesh would, only by sight, we judge by appearance alone. With no insight into the persons heart, with no wisdom as too what God sees, and most importantly ignorant as to how God wishes to deal with them. Fleshly judgment converts one into a stumbling block. Working for praise and failing to clean the inside. When we fail to clean the inside by working in mercy, love, grace, honor, patience, wisdom and kindness we are then vessels who are unequipped to be used by God in different circumstances. The flesh is also selfish. Selfishness creates us into a stumbling block because we don’t only withhold love but also we do not look out for our brothers and sisters. Growth works hand in hand in learning how to deal with each other as it changes us on the inside. As we begin to allow Gods word to really change our perception then we will be used greater and greater enjoying the fruits of our labor within a relationship with God and others without feeling the need to show off. When stepping from carnality to spirituality, rebuking comes into play. Rebuking is when you approach someone with mercy, grace, honor, patience, wisdom and kindness. Mercy with holds the punishment another deserves. Grace withholds punishment and on top of that gives more. Honor respects others without making them inferior to one. Patience gives the necessary time needed in order for change. Let’s face it not one of us changes over night. Wisdom has insight and applies all of the previous attributes. Kindness is gentle and understanding. These attributes come out of a heart whose intentions are to love. The spirit serves selflessly and does not seek to impress. Relationships must be built on a foundation that last and a spiritual foundation always seeks a foundation the will work eternally. Enduring with one another does cause stress however there is a constructive way to deal with the stress. #1 Defeated stress: Defeated stress comes from the attitude of the heart. Forgetting the foundation one stands on. Forgetting that Christ first and for most clothed us with his grace. It is not by our works that we become good enough for God but by what Christ already finished. If we forget the first layer of our foundation we also give away our faith and hope. Defeated stress is stagnant and is not open to see how God is using the current trial to mold perception. Suffering is nothing compared to the lessons we could learn with the right attitude. #2 Enduring and perseverant stress: Enduring and perseverant stress has the right attitude because it remembers what it believes in. It withholds and stands on the rock. It perseveres bearing in mind it takes time to grow. We need to heal and mature in several different areas of ourselves. God knows how to deal with our hearts in different times and seasons. Are you willing to learn how to be content in any situation God puts you in? To quickly tie in all together, we must be willing to build, mature, and keep every level of the building God constructs. Learning how to judge and preserve. A house built on sand collapses.
