BIG DEAL!!!!! Google and learn. This is a side effect of Citizens United. If you live in NH CD-2 (NHs Second Congressional District) currently represented by Rep. Ann Kuster, you need to be aware of something very significant concerning this years elections. NH CD-2 is being watched nationally, not because it holds any special political importance or because of anything special about Rep. Kuster or her opponent (a Republican state legislator, Marilinda Garcia). Its being watched because of a small company with less than ten employees called Aegis Strategic. There are articles on the web explaining the money trail, but the short story is simple – Aegis Strategic is the first prototype of a for-profit political campaign management company, setup by the Koch Brothers. This small company is looking to offer their “services” to select Libertarian-leaning candidates around the country and take them start-to-finish through a federal race for a seat in Congress (presuming, of course, that they allow aegis to pull all the strings – from fundraising to speaches and talking points), managing all aspects of their campaign. “So What?” you might ask? Well, Marilinda Garcia is their very first client. If Garcia is successful, it will serve to validate the “business model” of for-profit campaign management, and could potentially help to spur an entirely new industry growing up around this concept. This is the embodiment of MORE money in politics, instead of less, and MORE corrupt corporate influence, instead of less. If you live in NH CD-2, for the love of whatever you believe in do not vote for Garcia. If you dont like Kuster, just leave that race on the ballot blank. Garcia is a horrible manchurian candidate, and deserves to be sent packing, but even ignoring that – aegis strategic must be sent packing as well. For the good of the republic, we cannot allow political campaigns to become yet another for-profit enterprise and even more corrupted then theyve already become since Citizens United.
