BIG SWAMP NEWS: Good evening my friends and Im so happy to be back writing the swamp news again tonight. I know I have some explaining to do, so here goes. Last Saturday was a week ago, my really old cat Missy accidentally tripped me and I fell hard on my hip.. I wasnt hurting at the time, just sore from the fall. I even got up that Sunday and went to Church. When I returned home from Church, the pain set in and I had difficultly moving around but thought it would go away eventually. This went on all the next week and I even tho I was in serious pain I still made an attemp to go to the garden this past Saturday with Dan in tow. The butter beans, green beans, tomatoes, okra, squash, cucumbers, watermelons, eggplants, onions and Melons had to be gathered. So Rhonda and Moe, my gardening pardners along with Dianne Turner, Rhondas Mom, Louie, Moes employee and Dan and I set out to git er done and that had to be the most stupid thing Ive done in a long time with my hip so messed up..Oh they all fussed at me but there was way too much work that had to be done.. Rhonda brought me over some meds Saturday afternoon that helped but by late evening, I couldnt walk at all and the pain was unbearable. I made it through Sunday still unable to walk but hoping for a miracle and by Monday I was at the Hospital in Dillon, SC getting all kind of treatment with x-rays and scans. I was so afraid my hip was broken but thank the Lord it wasnt. It was my sciatic nerve that had been damaged and osteo-arthritis had set in on it. I wouldnt post anything about this because Tara Prezimirski, Steve Prezimirski, and Addie had a planned vacation to Gatlinburg, Tn and I wasnt about to mess that up for them until I had answers on my condition. She knew about the fall and that I was sore but not how bad it really was. If it had been broken, we would have of course notified her but not with what Im dealing with now. The pain will drive you nuts but I can and do deal with it. Im not able to be up moving around or walking unless absolutely necessary, just bathroom privileges. lol..That alone is driving me up the wall when I look at my yards and not being able to go to my garden. Dan is now going to be the garden fellow and I know Rhonda Lowe Williamson will advise and help him until Im able to get back..Shes been dealing with sickness herself this past weekend as well.. He was worn to a frazzle Saturday as this was his first gardening experience. The first word out of his mouth was you really enjoy enjoy this hard work?? I said yes I do and you will before we finish this season. We wont discuss the look he gave me.. LOL I lost a dear lifetime friend, Doris Wilkins and its tearing me apart that I cant be there for the family and show my love and respect to Doris. We grew up together in the same neighborhood about a mile apart and have been close friends forever..RIP Doris until we meet again... So my friends, now that you know my sad and clumbsy story, I hope you forgive and wont fire me as Editor of the Swamp News.. So until next time from the Big Swamp...
