BITTER TRUTH Education as good as it is to a society can also become an instrument of destruction to such a society if there are no moral values to guide those acquiring it. You might want to ask me the reason for saying this? Why for instance will a human being use gun which is a product that was invented through the innovation that comes from education to kill another human being. It is because such a fellow lacks moral. The reason why our society today is experiencing a lot of problems and crimes is because our moral values are going into extinction. It is the extinction of our moral values for instance that will make a government to value the economy of the country at the expense of the lives the the citizens of such a country. Thank God that Nigeria economy is improving but the question is is the lives of the citizens of Nigeria improving? How many Nigerian eat three times in a day? Many Nigerians are swimming in the ocean of poverty and yet we are celebrating the economy of Nigeria. To me any economy that cannot put food on the table of the ordinary man in country is unless. And all of these happen because we ignore our moral values. Let me say frankly here that religion cannot take the place of moral values. No matter how religious a man is, such a man will become an instrument in the hand of the devil against his fellow man if he lacks ethical and moral values. It is time to seek moral values.
