BJP and its supporters should start thinking about strengthening Institutions of our Nation and not NaMo himself as an institution! Else, I wish to recap on what we have seen in Andhra Pradesh. It is a Political lesson to anyone out there who are trying to replicate this phenomena! Here you go! - First it was Y S Rajasekhar Reddy - He ascends to power as CM of Andhra Pradesh in 2004 - Closest friend KVP Ramachandra Rao becomes chief Adviser to Govt. of AP on Public Affairs. A cabinet rank in May 2004 - Started systematic dismantle of Democratic Institutions - Brought in all his YES men as ministers and bureaucrats. - Got out 28 GOs left and right undermining the state assembly. - Encouraged crony capitalism and institutionalized quid pro quo. - Tried the Robin Hood theory on the poor for political survival! - Left no stone un-turned to threaten, weaken and dampen the opposition. - Demeaned the idea of Media by starting Sakshi channel as mouth piece and threatening the other media outlets (I do not say others are sane too)out there. - Played the religious card as needed thoroughly. - Positioned himself as One Man Army for the AP state congress party and controlled the high command (which everyone knows) to heed to his demands. One unfortunate day, disappeared in the woods and left the state, ministers, bureaucrats, his own party, family, people, welfare schemes and as a whole the governance to utter chaos. Ministers, bureaucrats, party members, family who jived with him in corruption ended up in jail finally once his soul departed!
