BLACK OR AFRIKAN? I say AFRIKAN. Why? Becauase attaching your identity to Afrika makes sense: Attaching your identity to an abstract colour, does not. Black and Afrikan are not interchangeable or even ideologically synonymous. Blackness isolates skin colour, and not land of origin, as the most critical aspect of Afrikan people. So where do Black people come from? Blackia, Negroland or Blackistan! There is no escaping this argument, so black is redundant and Afrikan is relevant. There are no black people in Africa and especially no "black Afrikans." "Black" compared to who? "Black (English) = Negro (Spanish)= Nigg*r (Latin)? I am Afrikan.. and I from now on refer to all people of Afrikan descent (politically black) as Afrikan.
