BLACK ROCK DESERT Rip Reel SYNOPSIS: After attending BURNING MAN, in the Black Rock Desert, a group in their mid-twenties, were headed back to Los Angeles, in an RV and Cadillac, along with tens of thousands of other festival attendees. As night fell, and traffic proved unbearable, they decided to take a short cut through the desert, but when their RV blew its septic tank, they were forced to pile into the Cadillac and drove to the nearest rest stop. Eventually, they came across a deserted trailer park. Though the conditions were less than desirable, the group decided, they would rest for the night and return to the RV in the morning. The next day, they discovered two tires on their car were flat. Now stranded, with no civilization for 30 miles in any direction, half the group decided to make the 15 miles trek back to the RV, where they knew they had water. The other half of the group remained at the trailer park. While exploring, they discovered the park was built in the 1950’s, on top of an uninhabited town, called Hardin City, which, at one time, was a mining town from the 1800’s. As the sun set, the other half of the group arrived at the RV, only to discover it had been ransacked. Suddenly, in the darkness, they heard a growl, no animal known to man could have made. Panicking, they started running back to the trailer park. When they finally returned to the park, hours later, the other half of the group that stayed behind, had vanished. While searching the park for their missing friends, they came upon iron rail tracks, half buried beneath the sand, leading to the entrance of an old abandoned mine. Once they entered the mine, everything changed when they encountered grotesque, unworldly creatures, from unknown origins. Creatures, that survived and thrived in the Black Rock Desert, by unimaginable means. The survivors, for lack of a better term, discovered a new reality where fear has no boundaries, hell does exist and humans are no longer at the top of the food chain.
