BLOOM OR DOOM? MAKE OR BREAK? REFORMATION OR DEFORMATION? Ezekiel 37:2-4, The hand of the Lord was upon me and He brought me out by His spirit and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full if bones. He led me to and fro among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, cab theses bones live?” I said, “O sovereign Lord, you alone know”. Then He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” The word of the Lord is true and powerful. Paul described it as a double edged sword. That word brought life right from the very beginning. God spoke and it came to pass. Even today, He speaks and it comes to pass. He did not tell Ezekiel to remember the past when the bones were part of a living being. He did not even tell Him to sympathize. He did not tell Him to mourn. He told Ezekiel to prophesy to the DRY bone. Many of us go through life’s challenges with a very negative mentality. In studies, Social life, families, places of work, marriages etc… challenges can be very overwhelming. We lose hope too soon. We do not speak the word of God to life. All we do is curse ourselves and resign to the belief that we are bewitched. When a couple is having some tough times, rarely do they pause and speak success to the marriage. Most of them file for divorce over a very simple manner. Rather than say what the word of God says to the marriage, they start the blame game that end in an acrimonious divorce. When we are having challenges in studies, (for students) we rarely pause to speak the word of God to the situations. So God is asking, “Can that marriage come back to life? Can you prosper in the business? Can recover from that health condition? Can Joy be found in your family? Can you have peace in life? Can you what seems dead to you come back to life? You have been looking for a good job for so long but do you think you’ll get it? Will you pause and speak greatness of the Almighty to that situation or are you going to continue whining and helping people demean you? Your dreams have been shattered but can you stop pitying yourself and speak life to them? Prophesy good things about your life. Don’t sit with people and participate in belittling yourself. Don’t join the critic in doing what “they love to do”. I decided to start speaking positive things to my life. I made up my mind that I will not join the people who belittle me and my goals. I decided that I will never sit with backbiters. I realized that I have enough enemies so I should not be an enemy to myself. I have enough critics so I should not criticize myself. Can you imagine how happy the devil would be if you started walking right into a temptation deliberately? You would be collaborating with him in tempting yourself. Stop it now! No more “Pity party!” You were designed and fashioned for prosperity so don’t prophesy doom! Bloom NOT doom. Make, don’t break! Reform or deform, doom or bloom, the choice is yours!
