BODY OF AFFILIATE VOLUNTARY YOUTH ORGANISATIONS, NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA. March 08, 2014. Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government, Bullet House, Abuja. Dear Sir, NOMINATION OF NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES TO THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE; NOTICE OF IMPENDING MULTIPLE PROTESTS. The above named body of Voluntary Youth Organisations who are affiliates of the National Youth Council of Nigeria write to express our utter discomfiture to Your Excellency on the attempt by some devious elements to supplant our democratically elected Representatives across the Nation. We acknowledge the crises state of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, which we make bold to say, was orchestrated by the same set of people who have somehow found a way of infiltrating your allowed Office. Your Excellency needs to know that the said list consist of people who cannot for any reason represent us as a result of the provisions of the National Youth Policy and the constitutional National Youth Council of Nigeria, both of which agree that the Age of the Youth shall be between 18 and 35. Therefore people who are far above the stipulated age cannot represent the interests of Youths across the Nation at ages far beyond the required norms of our extant Laws. Among the said published names is a former President of the Council who was forced out of Office over Seven years ago and another who was alleged to have brought the Nation to disrepute during a Pan African Youth Union election by falsifying his Age. Aside from the bad image these people will bring on the National Conference which we have desired for years with their surreptitious personalities, there is no doubt that they cannot and should not represent the Youth of Nigeria in a project of this magnitude, which we consider as another step in the right direction among the several attempts by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR to Transform our great country into the nation of our dreams. It is very pertinent to mention that our various Zonal bodies consisting of the various affiliate Voluntary Youth Organisations resident in the Zones and the State Chapters met at their individual zones acting on an instruction purportedly emanating from Your Office and delivered by the Special Adviser to His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Youth and Students Affairs, Jude Imagwe to elect and or appoint their representatives. We must clearly state that several of these exercises were monitored fully by the various Security Agencies including the State Security Service, the Nigerian Police and men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp. At the end of the various exercises, the following people emerged as our incontestable Representatives; 1. Comrade Ibukun Oluwa Oluwole- South- West Zone 2. Amb. Hope George - South- South Zone 3. Com. Temple Chinedu Chika- South- East Zone 4. Engr. Saleh Alhassan Kubah- North-West Zone 5. Com. Abdulmajeed Abdullahi- North- Central Zone 6. Com. Abduljalal Dauda- North East Zone We are therefore humbling calling on the Presidency through the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government ably led by your Excellency to change the names of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Representatives to reflect the true wishes of the teeming young Nigerians who risked their lives to travel from their abodes to the various States within their zones to freely give their mandates to the above mentioned persons. We also wish to humbly inform your esteemed Office that we have already consulted extensively with our legal representatives on alternative legal routes to follow towards regaining this mandate stolen by a bunch of usurpers, while our various zones are mobilizing our memberships to stage simultaneous Demonstrations across the Nation to express our dissatisfaction with this daylight robbery. In view of our honest believe in the Transformation Agenda of the President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR, the high esteem in which we hold Your Excellency and your Office and the above clearly stated positions, we humbly make the following demands; A. That the criminals be immediately delisted as our Representatives. B. That the omission be forthwith corrected as soon as Your Office deems fit. C. That Your Excellency uses Your good Office and astute personality to call these unscrupulous elements to order and refrain them from such attempts in the future.
