BOMO is celebrating International Womens Day (March 8) by featuring a favorite female author each day of the month. J.K. Rowling has become, in the course of less than 20 years, one of the most successful novelist (monetarily) of all time. The Harry Potter brand is estimated to be worth 15 Billion Dollars and put Rowling on the Forbes list of Billionaires in 2010. However, before all the success was a great deal of failure. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone was rejected by 12 publishers before it was finally accepted. In 2008 I heard Rowling give the commencement address at Harvard University.
