BONFIRE NIGHT: A bonfire night in Lewes, England, looks set to attract worldwide attention thanks to the use of effigies of Vladimir Putin. Bonfire Night, or Fawkes Night, is marked every year in the UK on November 5, commemorating a failed plot to blow up the House of Lords in 1605. Celebrations in Lewes bring together displays from six of the town’s seven bonfire societies and they have a history of burning controversial effigies. This video shows an effigy of Putin atop the Malaysia Airlines MH17 plane. Embeddable with credit to PJ Johnson via Facebook. Contact PJ Johnson for other usage requests.
