BOXING DAY 2014 - DOG TRADERS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF A YOUNG CHINESE GIRL Some dogs captured for the #dogmeattrade in China & the Yulin Festival are caught using crossbows & poisoned darts (easy to obtain off the internet) laced with potassium cyanide or succinylcholine chloride. (Highly toxic to humans too) Very sadly in Luan City on 26th December 2014, a 7 year old girl playing with her siblings under the trees in front of her home, picked up what she thought looked like a red ballpoint pen (it was a poisoned dart!) & it immediately pierced the palm of her hand. Her face went purple, she lost consciousness & died in hospital. Very early that morning dog thieves had been operating in the area & had obviously shot at but missed the family dog. There have been an increasing number of dog thefts in China. We see reports of dog owners chasing dog thieves and getting threatened or shot with poisoned darts & occasionally the thieves will pierce themselves & die. Dog traders in the past have been charged with selling poisonous dogs to restaurants & making people very ill. As we see & share the truth on social media , it is plain to see why this highly profitable festival in Yulin on June 21st, which includes dog & cat meat, needs to be stopped & the recently revived trade must end.
