BRAZIL PLANE CRASH: A small jet carrying Brazilian presidential hopeful Eduardo Campos reportedly crashed in the Boqueirão district of Santos on August 13. According to reports, firefighters said there were fatalities, but the number of deaths was not confirmed. The plane, a Cessna 560XL, took off from Rio de Janeiro’s domestic airport, and was headed for the city of Guaruja.
