BREAKING NEWS: BREAKING NEWS: BREAKING NEWS: We can now reveal that we have obtained exclusive footage of the Festival Walk discussion at last week’s STC Meeting. We are grateful to our own Spennyman - who shot the film after gaining entry to the Public Gallery, by crawling along the floor of the chamber on all five of his bellies, cunningly disguised as Alan Gardner. The video was recorded on a state of the art camera (wind-up Brownie) modified to look like a Council shovel which could become totally inactivated by someone leaning on it. (Actually Spennymoor Town Council raised no objection to the meeting being recorded but why let facts stand in the way of a good story) On a serious note, it is good to know that community action and genuine concern expressed on the Spennymoor Social Media sites have obviously raised the profile of the currently unacceptable state of the precinct in the minds of the Council. We hope it will also assist the STC in their efforts to apply pressure to Durham County Council to have the situation resolved. In the meantime the fight continues.
