BREAKING NEWS; Karonga District Hospital health workers and support staff have yet joined the Kamuzu Central Hospital staff in boycotting work due to late salary payments by government. It still remains a big threat as the likelihood of patients even those in critical conditions ,scheduled for operations and more so pregnant women are to be battling for survival on their own. Our effort to talk to the District Health Officer proved futile as our calls went unanswered. Only a few student workers from Livingstonia College of Nursing are helping few patients they can. In a separate interview a guardian at the hospital who asked for anonymity claimed his relative came in early hours today but was not attended to as he was being interviewed.
