WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER TWO TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING: TROPICAL DEPRESSION “ZORAIDA” ISSUED AT 11:00 AM, 11 NOVEMBER 2013 (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today) TROPICAL DEPRESSION “ZORAIDA” HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT MOVES WEST NORTHWESTWARD. Location of eye/center: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “ZORAIDA” was estimated based on all available data at 830 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (5.1°N, 133.1°E). Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 30 kph. Forecast Position: Tropical Depression “ZORAIDA” is expected to be at 160 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur by tomorrow morning and in the vicinity of Cuyo or 130 km West of Iloilo City by Wednesday morning. By Thursday morning, it is expected to be at 650 km West of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNAL PSWS#1 (Winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36hours) Dinagat Province, Siargao Island, Agusandel Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte including Samal Island, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin Island, Siquijor, Southern Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Southern Negros Occidental. • Twigs and branches of trees may be broken. • Some banana plants may tilt or land flat on the ground. • Rice in flowering stage may suffer significant damage. • Some nipa and cogon houses may be partially unroofed. • Sea travel of small seacrafts and fishing boats is risky. • Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. • Sea travel is risky over the Northern seaboard of Northern Luzon and the Eastern seaboards of Northern and central Luzon. • The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
