BREAKING: Nigeria police Officers “missing” after clash with pipeline vandals: Some police officers are missing after a confrontation with pipeline vandals in the Arepo area of Lagos, an emergency official has said. The shoot-out, involving a security team and armed vandals, occurred at Arepo, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, said Sunday. “There was a pipeline explosion early this morning. Exchange of fire between the pipeline security team and vandals started yesterday but got to the peak by midnight,” Ibrahim Farinloye, NEMA South-west Spokesperson, said. He said access to the area was difficult because of its rough terrain. It is not clear how many officers may be missing. The spokesperson of Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, did not respond to inquiries to her phone. metronig
