BREAKING THE BAD NEWS Dear CMCians and ALL, With a broken heart and soaked eyes let me break the bad news: Professor Sahjahan Nurus Samad of CMC01 expired couple of minutes ago at Lab Aid Hospital in Dhaka where he had been in ventilator for respiratory failure off Pneumonia since last few days. He was 78. He was a veteran CMCian and had been performing his role as a custodian and vanguard of the dignity, heritage and riches of Chittagong Medical College in particular and the profession in general. He was also an awesome teacher and a clinician and the framer and shaper of the specialty of Anaesthesiology as an academic and practicing discipline in Bangladesh. An outright die hard man of ‘Yes to good and no to bad’ he will be ever remembered by his fellow CMCians, colleagues and friends and others. The nation lost a ‘Good Man’, the profession a ‘Professional’, and the Discipline of Anethesiology its ‘Navigator’ ….. and….. and…….. never ending……..! His first Namaze Janaja will be held at Dhanmondi 27 Mosque in Dhaka after Esha today and the Second one at the same place after Asar tomorrow. May Allah provide him RIP in the Heaven and the strength to over the bereavement to his family members and all who are related to him. ‘Inna Lillahe Owa Ilaihe Rajeun’!
