BREAKING via Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard: Vermont Governor to sign first state law to require labeling of genetically engineered food: “This is a very simple issue. People have a right to know what is in the food they eat and feed their families. I commend Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin for his support for GE food labeling legislation. Labeling GE food will provide consumers with the straightforward, transparent information they need to make informed decisions about their food. Congress must act immediately on the legislation I have co-sponsored that will create clear, consistent labeling standards across the country.” -TG FROM BAB on Tulsi: We are so glad that Tulsi Gabbard does not take any funding from chemical and GMO companies. Tulsi Gabbard launched a full fledged campaign against the Monsanto Protection Act teaming up with other Congressmembers to stand up to Monsantos stripping our rights. When the Monsanto Protection Act first came out, it was for a six month period, very sketchy and snuck into an agriculture appropriations bill which she voted in favor of overall. We were OUTRAGED. Everyone was! But she listened to her consitutents, turned it around, and started fighting back! She launched a successful, full fledged campaign to stop the future attempts at Monsanto Protection Acts and she has fought harder than any one else from Hawaii in Congress for GMO labeling and against the MPA! Nobody is perfect but we will take Tulsi Gabbard over Colleen Hanabusa ANY DAY. You want to see a Hawaii Monsanto Protection Act signer? Look at Colleen Hanabusa! When the MPA first came out, Colleen voted against it but it had nothing to do with protecting us from Monsanto and the next time it came around, Hanabusa voted in FAVOR of it despite thousands of Hawaii residents urging Congress not to pass it! It was made clear to Tulsi after that initial mistake, by thousands of Hawaii residents that was unacceptable and she has turned it around and become the best environmental voice we have in congress even introducing GMO labeling. Tulsi and the good guys in Congress were successful in stopping the Monsanto Protection Act from rearing its ugly head again but despite mass public opposition, Colleen started voting in favor of the Monsanto Protection Act! FYI, Colleen takes GMO money, Tulsi does not. Russell Kokubun, Mr. GMO former Department of Ag head, left his position to work for Hanabusa!!! RED FLAG. Dont get it twisted, PLEASE. Tulsi is the best friend of the earth we have representing Hawaii in Congress and we are very grateful she is in office! There are a lot of very bad politicians and Tulsi is one of the good ones, we appreciate her.
