BREES UPDATE FROM WWL SIDELINE REPORTER: Dont Doubt Brees: Quarterback Drew Brees is still day to day with an oblique strain that’s held him out for over a week of practice. Brees has been diligently working his way back, and you can see incremental progress. I have no doubt Drew will be ready for the season opener against Atlanta. There is no reason to push it right now and you can see him improving everyday, said [Bobby] Hebert. Brees was working on the side today with WR Kenny Stills, throwing 15 to 20 yard passes and going through drops and footwork. Hebert said Brees looks fine: He’s got plenty of zip on the football, and looks like he’s completely healthy. While he’s not completely healthy, if this were a regular season game week, I would venture a guess that he would play. Luckily its not regular season yet. Not quite 100% yet, but getting there closer everyday. Coming back stronger is what he does.
