BREKING NEWS>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Oct 23: Jammu &Kashmir Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone Wednesday expressed concern at the recent statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asking New Delhi to explore other options while dealing with Pakistan. Terming Omar’s statement as “brazen absurdity”, Sajad said not only did it reflect political puerility on the part of the chief minister, it is also indicative of the desperate attempt at political self-preservation by him at the cost of the well-being of the common people.” Sajad said this attitude is “only constant in an otherwise self-contradictory political path of the ruling clique.” He said such ‘myopic war-mongering’ is detrimental not only to the regional stability but in particular to the lives of common Kashmiri people who invariably end up bearing the main brunt of the consequent violence and are the actual people at the receiving end. “This is however part of a historical continuation of the ruling partys political philosophy wherein peoples interest was conveniently sacrificed at the altar of self-preservation and self-grandeur,” Sajad alleged. “This attitude could be traced right from 1947 wherein in pursuit of self-grandeur and power, the then political patriarch of the now ruling party NC was the main character responsible for the Gordion knot the region confronts today.” Sajad said: “Unable to give precedence to the wishes of his people over his own interests he contributed towards the creation of the present predicament in Kashmir. It henceforth became a recurrent factor running through the different generational changes at the helm of the party wherein the leadership would harp on rhetorical pro-Kashmiri slogans when out of power only to conform to the Delhi pandering hardline posturing once in power. The recent statement of the chief minister should be seen in the same vein.” Sajad said: “As a result of electoral desperation and an attempt at currying favor with Delhi by posturing as more loyal than the king, the Chief minister came up with the quixotic brain-wave, a theatric which even centers of authority in Delhi prefer to dismiss.” “The brazen audacity not only reflects the significance the blue-eyed oligarchies give to the concerns of the people and the naked tenacity with which they display accountability and subservience to Delhi rather than their own people, it is also indicative of the erosion of the weightage of the office of the Chief Minister of Kashmir- an eventuality arrived at by constant abuse of its symbolic sanctity by its occupiers. This however is not limited to the NC alone but has been practiced with greater precision by the PDP- a party which overlooked the worst human rights violations in Kashmirs history when its supreme leader callously sanctioned most of the violations ]] ] Srinagar, Oct 23: Jammu &Kashmir Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone Wednesday expressed concern at the recent statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asking New Delhi to explore other options while dealing with Pakistan.
