BRIDE PRICE REFUND: If you do attend a Kwanjula or other traditional marriage ceremony, please advise the groom that before he gives away those cows, goats and money as bride price, he should know that much as payment of bride price is not outlawed or declared unconstitutional, asking for a refund of Bride Price is unconstitutional for contravening Articles 33 (6) and 31(1) of the Constitution. This means that if the marriage breaks up, then it is unlawful for the groom to ask for a refund of the bride price.
