BRUSH UP ON THE BOOKS OF THE BIBLE: At Millwood, we believe - TopicsExpress

BRUSH UP ON THE BOOKS OF THE BIBLE: At Millwood, we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world & the Lord of life. Together, the 66 Books of the Bible are the completed, inspired, infallible Word of God. The Old Testament is rich with the history of Israel & shows us how God preserved the way for the Messiah to come. The New Testament is sufficient for Christian faith & practice. The Bible proclaims He is coming - He is here - He is coming again. You can now learn for the first time or just brush up on the Books of the Bible, making your study of the Bible easier. I learned all 66 Books of the Bible years ago, but I realized a couple of years ago that as I have grown older, I began to lose them, especially the minor prophets. So... I decided to brush up! I now try to recite them all in order each morning after breakfast to retain them. We will take a few at a time each week. As we add new books, keep lengthening your list. Repeat them to yourself everyday. Carry a list with you in your pocket. Go over them at your break, or lunch or at the stoplight. It will be to your advantage! The Bible is divided into two sections, the Old Testament & the New Testament. We began with the Old Testament. It consists of 39 books. So far, we have learned: *The first 5 books of the Bible, known as The Peneteuch or The Law, written by Moses - Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. *The 12 books of History - Joshua, Judges and Ruth, 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings and 1 & 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther. *The 5 books of Poetry -Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon. *The 5 Major Prophets - Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, & Daniel. *The 12 Minor Prophets - Hosea, Joel & Amos, Obadiah, Jonah & Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk & Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah & Malachi Today, we will begin adding the New Testament books. The first four are called the gospels. They are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Have a great day!
