BTW, I have never talked about this, but today I cant help but feel nostalgic. I got fired from my first ever job in Hollywood 10 years ago. Grant it, I sucked at said job and was secretly working part-time as a journalist because I was bored out of my mind so I should have been fired. But I was let go in a way that was invasive and demeaning. I was completely devastated because I felt like I had failed and my whole life in LA up until that point had been wrapped up in that person. Im so grateful for the opportunity she gave me, though, and will always be thankful for her in that way, but Ill never forget what she said when she let me go. She looked me dead in the eye and said, Youll never find a boss as good as me. And now my boss is Tina Fey.
