BTW guess what has happened. On Thursday I randomly came to my campus to pick up some super random documents I could pick up any other day. I was passing through the hallway when I suddenly heard that magical phrase ...from Columbia University somebody said to somebody. I stopped in amazement. -WHAT??? WHAT HAS YOU JUST SAID? And this random woman repeated that there was a professor on campus from Columbia University giving a lecture. When I went to the room, I saw professor Catharine Nepomnyashchy, from the Slavic Department of Barnard College whom I saw on Russia-related events in Columbia and whom I visited on her office hours while I was studying at Barnard. She was actually that person who launched the whole exchange agreement between my school and Columbia! Moreover, I found out that she was there with 15 Columbia and Barnard students, doing a tour through Germany, Russia, Mongolia and China! I am just surprised by the fact that if I didnt show up on campus so randomly that day and if I didnt overheard somebodys conversation in the hallway - I would never know a bunch of Columbia students lead by Catharine Nepomnyashchy came to visit my small journalism school. And then days and hours were flying. I have spent amazing time going out with students and then visiting their tours around Moscow, listening to their classes and discussing Russia/Soviet Union-related topics, and then visiting the Catharine Nepomnyashchys presentation of her amazing book. Everything that happened during those 5 days was truly a great experience that diversified my regular life in Moscow so tremendously. So because it all has suddenly happened and then also so suddenly finished, I just want to admit that Columbia will always be in my heart and that this simple meeting with its students in Moscow made me so ecstatic, pumped and nostalgic. Once again, Columbia has changed all my life and all my personality and I will never forget everything it did to me. And all the people from Columbia that I met, just know that I still love you and still extremely happy I once met you.
