Pohnpei measles outbreak prompts warning on Guam A measles outbreak in the Federated States of Micronesia has prompted Guam Public Health officials to warn local residents. Pregnant women and young children are advised to avoid close contact with anyone who has a rash-like illness and cold symptoms, according to the Department of Public Health and Social Services. Guam health care providers also have been advised to verify the immunization records of the patients they see and to administer or schedule needed vaccinations. There is an outbreak of measles in Pohnpei state, in the Federated States of Micronesia, with four reported cases as of June 6. PACIFIC DAILY NEWS
