BUILD YOUR CURRICULUM VITAE Your Curriculum Vitae (CV) determines your placement in life. Or, let us put it this way, your position in life is a function of your CV. Your CV is a preparation for your enthronement in destiny. Seek every opportunity to develop your CV. Invest in it and you will be glad for the returns. It was David’s CV that qualified him for placement as Israel’s king. God said of him: Now therefore so shall thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of Hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, Over Israel: (2 Samuel 7:8). Building your CV requires that you are not indolent but serving somewhere and in some capacity. You can see that the past of David was rooted in sacrificial service, even at the risk of his life. Nobody saw him while he was tending his father’s flock and laying his life on the line for those animals. But God did. This is where many youths miss it today. They do not want to serve; they want to be served. Because of some gifts they think they have, some are puffed up. They do not want to start small but big. They love to be seen as the General Overseer, the CEO, and what have you. Yet, the truly great people always stoop to learn. Even though Samuel was prophesied to be a prophet, yet he stooped to learn from ELI. His delight and eagerness to serve can be seen in the following scripture. That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, here am I. And he ran unto Eli, and said, here am I; for thou called me. And he said I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down – (I Sam 3:4-5) Samuel was so eager to serve, and so he applied his heart to discipline and mentoring. He was not sluggish at his response to call, he ran to Eli. Nobody knew David’s encounter with the lion and the bear until that historic encounter with Goliath (I Sam 17:33 – 36). The lesson is this: your CV is a sacred document of your life, guard it jealously and use it to your advantage when required. You can develop your CV silently without attracting attention. The scripture says of John the Baptist: And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his showing unto Israel. – (Luke 1:80) BUILD YOUR CV SPIRITUALLY. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is non other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”.– Act 4:12 by: BANKOLE AIYEJUSUNLE, (Extract from Godly Wisdom for Youth)
