BUILDING COMMITTEE REPORT Are we finished? YES! (Almost) The contractors have left the premises. We received our Certificate of Occupancy in November. LSELC has moved into their new space and earlier this week, received their Conditional Use Permit from the City of Golden Valley. This permit authorizes a maximum of 105 children. Our original CUP permit in 1989 authorized 50 children. If you recall, several line items in the scope of the project were pulled and set aside to accommodate additional costs. Most of those items have been completed or committed to being completed. The sound deadening material, for the multi-purpose space (gym) has been delivered and will be going up soon. The sports equipment (basketball and volleyball equipment) was ordered this week and will be installed, hopefully, next month. The landscaping and irrigation system will be completed in the spring. However, the major item on the short list is the multi-purpose sport floor and stripping. Based on bids we have already received we are still between $20,000 and $25,000 short. We continue to search and research alternatives that will be more affordable. Some members of our GVLC family have already given special gifts for the floor. The Lord has truly blessed us with a new and renewed Ministry Center that allows us to improve our current programs, open doors to the community and “reach out” to do the Lord’s work. “Surely the Lord is in This Place” Thank you to the “Sweat Equity Volunteers” who have put in a countless number of hours to help get us here.
