BUSHFIRE WATCH AND ACT - NGARKAT CONSERVATION PARK Message Issued: 15:20 17/01/2014 CFS advises that a bushfire at NGARKAT CONSERVATION PARK IN THE UPPER SOUTH EAST near Ngarkat Highway (Bordertown to Pinnaroo Road), The Border Track, Makin Road, West McCallum Road and Red Bluff Road may threaten your safety. The NGARKAT: NGARKAT COMPLEX fire is travelling in a Westerly to North Westerly Direction direction towards Mount Rescue Conservation Park, Sugarloaf Road, and Paphael Rd . The fire is not controlled and is burning in Scrub and conditions are continually changing. The CFS is attending to this fire. Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan and prepare for a bushfire in your area. If your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, leave now. Only leave if the path is clear to a safe place. You should not enter this area as the roads may not be safe. Well prepared and actively defended homes can offer safety. Stay tuned to this radio station on a battery-powered radio for updates.
