BUYER BEWARE at Earth Fare (and anywhere really): I found myself nearby an Earth Fare store today on the west side and decided to finally check it out. While they had a good selection of vegan offerings around the store, I was very concerned when I found a vegan soup on the hot line of prepared foods, that wasnt vegan. Not only was it not vegan, it wasnt even vegetarian as it contained both milk and chicken fat. What!? I discovered this because I went to the pre-packaged soups to purchase instead and was shocked when I read the ingredients. Thank goodness I did! I asked the person behind the counter if they were somehow made differently when on the line versus packaged in containers, but he said no and promptly removed the sign. It was a butternut squash apple soup. It smelled delicious...too bad:( Careful folks...always read the labels no matter what, especially if it is labeled by employees and not a commercial product.
