BWC Writing Workshop – Developing Character with Kate Nannestad. Monday, July 8 @ 7pm Katrina Nannestad is a children’s author, and says to come along with a spring in your step, a smile on your face and a willingness to get in touch with your inner child. If, however, you are a hopeless romantic, a lover of blood-and-guts horror or simply a grumpy old toad, come along anyway. We will have lots of fun and this writing workshop can be adapted to all styles of fiction. Our workshop help you do the following: 1.Become familiar with your character before you begin to write. 2.Reveal character in a story. Descriptions are great, but getting your reader to wonder, make predictions and join the dots is far more exciting. 3.Overcome a big fat wad of writer’s block that might land on your paper in the middle of the writing process. Author Biography Katrina Nannestad grew up in central-western New South Wales and has lived and worked most of her life in small country towns. After studying Arts and Education at the University of New England, she went on to teach, travel, raise children and pursue her love of stories. Katrina likes to celebrate family, friendship and community in her writing. Her books include Bungaloo Creek, Red Dirt Diary, Red Dirt Diary 2 – Blue About Love, Red Dirt Diary 3 – Blue’s News
