BY CHRIS OKEREKE Yinka Gbadebo and his comedy of manners I read to my utter dismay the scornful article by mr Yinka Gbadebo, the man parading himself as the NANS president, even after his reported impeachment by another group that identified themselves as NANS executives. According to the reason for his impeachment, Mr Gbadebo is said to be allegedly using the NANS office to masturbate his political libido against the course of the Nigerian student populace, hence his dismissal. But like a fish fish out water Gbadebo resurrected with a savage article titled the hypocrisy of ASUU and the dillema of karo ogbinaka of unilag in which he engages in amphibolous argumentation and sensless vitupuration against ASUU and Dr Karo Ogbinaka of Unilag philosophy department, once again throwing himself into the spotlight of comedy of manners reminiscent of students who belong to the old brigade, that employs ridiculous comraderry strategies to confer relevance upon their selves irrespective of whose ox is gored I recalled my first encounter with his horrendous satiric demeanor , behold was the acclaimed student leader fiercelly vibrating like a failing machine in a disgruntled enthusiasm in an effort to respond to a simple question posed by the news men, a widely broadcasted interview that lend the intelligibility of Nigerian student population to public ridicule. one wonders how such personality could won an election to represent 40 million Nigerian students, such superlative feet could have been possible through a village square campaign and beer parlor election We also remember how mr Yinka Gbadebo in his usual violent tactics that led to his hitherto rustication in UNAAD,he mobilized his terror squad to instigate violence in UNIUYO which led to the death of some promissing students in the course of the mayhem over a mere transport fare, in as much as the issue was being handled by the internal students of the institution before his uninvited intervention. could UNIUYO students have run out of ideas that the required Gbadebos instrument of violence, in the stalemate that also led to the death of a student of imo state university in a ghastly motor accident whom Gbadebo has mobilized for the mayhem, to add insult to injury and further break the heart of sensitive Nigerian students whose integrity and intelligibility is continually lend to public ridicule by this unscrupulous elements,Gbadebo announced to the world that Nigerian students have lost there senate president( a senate president they neither know nor elected) perhaps to confer relevance to the corpse. A student that was neither sent to school to become a senate president nor to intervane in disputes beyond the ambit of his own institution The pressing question again rises, where was Yinka Gbadebo when lasu intuition fee was increased? where was Yinka Gbadebo when unilag students where fighting for their institutions name change? does NANS leadership still bear any relevance in the mind of the Nigerian student population?. As far as the great Nigerian students is concern NANS only exist in the egotic mind of the old brigade students who are no more than looking for means by which to comfer tittle and relevance to there names, to question the hierarchy and to mobilize credulous students into social miscreants hence the following question by mr Gbadebo, if senate president can be ordered down from his vehicle by students, who is Dr Fagge? one wonders when students became a law to be obeyed by order or when the senate president deflates to a common citizen to be ordered by law enforcement students. this goes to suggest Mr Gbadebos desperation it is not in question that he was rusticated in UNAAD neither is it in question that he is now a diploma student but what is enshrouded in rational disputation is the ignorance barricading the demagogue of his hitherto rustication and the consequent retardation of mr Gbadebos studentship and conduces his NANS leadership as a campus charade is the fact he presented in his article, according to him, his rustication was neither due to cult related offence nor due to exam malpractice but on the contrary it was as a result of his comradery for the sake of the students, if this is no more than a persecution complex, then it will be quite just to conclude that grossly inefficient for student leadership insofar as mr Gbadebo resorted to a diploma form than the last oppressed (court) as common sense demands. At what point does it become a crime to embark on a civil act of demonstration devoid of violence? one does not need to be legal luminary to cite for our persecuted leader, the case between Garba vs university of maidugiri in which the former alongside two others where rusticated for cultism, while the anonymous other others like Gbadebo resorted to another JAMB form the unremitting Mr. Garba resorted to the last hope of the oppressed(court) and in the end came out triumphant . Aren’t there millions like like Garba whom mr Gbadebo claims to be representing? Mr Gbadebo proceeded to lay unfounded allegation on the reputable Dr of philosophy whom he knows little or nothing about, the allegation of buying handout of buying handout could simply have emanated out sheer ignorance, as buying of hand outs generally prohibited in the entire university of lagos, it does not therefore go without saying that is publicly making jest of role models of some students whom he claims to lead. I must also remind him that the unfounded allegation of sleeping with girls for paltry mark leveled against Karo Ogbinaka is not just an attack on the letter’s integrity and reputation but also a savagery on the dignity of unilag students. In the light of the foregoing, we demand that he tender not only an honest appology for soiling the image of the Ngerian student population and lending it to public ridicule but also an appology to unilag girls and lecturers whom he has reduced to bed mates. Furthermore i urge mr Yinka Gbadebo to stop parading himself as the president of Nigerian students which includes PHD and Msc students
