Babies!!! Brooke finally kidded today at around 4pm! I had been busy loading my car up getting ready to spend the evening in town with my parents, shower at their house (still no water here day 4), get groceries for my parents and do some home cooking for them. Went to the barn before leaving and there they are! She had a beautiful doeling that is brown and covered with white spots and a sweet buckling that is brown with white half belt (sorta) on both sides. He was standing but hunched and tail tucked. Sadly, his sis was laying sprawled out away from mom and her brother and she was basically unresponsive. Both kids suffering from hypothermia. When I picked her up she was ice cold but had a heartbeat!! Chose to work on her first. Another 5 mins. and she would have died. Ran with her into the house, put her by the wood burner and put a huge pot of water on to heat up to immerse her in an attempt to alleviate the hypothermia. Spent a LOT of time with a towel rubbing her all over esp extremeties, gave lots of medications and SHE HAS SURVIVED !! I know the next few days are crucial so can only keep working on her. Clemie immediately claimed her and has not left her side yet. She guards her, not wanting the other dogs near her and keeps busy licking her and snuggling her. Brooke is a senior now, I think shes about 8 yrs. have to double check. I dont know if Ill get another kid out of her in the future so this little gal just might be retained but brother is available: Goldwhaite, Kastdemure, Saada, lines :) Ill keep baby girl in here for a couple days. I am milking mom and bottle feeding her for now. She is eating great now that she has finally come out of the hypothermia but is considered a weakling until I can get her on her feet
