Baby Kota has been the most incredible addition to our family. In these first five days of his life hes shown an incredibly even temperament and a ready curiosity and fascination with the new experiences of life. Tori and I are constantly blown away by his presence. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers - Kota is doing wonderfully. For those who dont know, Tori was initially induced at 38 weeks because of Kota having IUGR, a growth restriction caused by an under-performing placenta. After 8 hours of labor at the hospital, Kota was ultimately born by emergency C-section due to heart decelerations during contractions. The big update for today is that at 4lb 14oz during his first appointment hes already over his original birth weight of 4lb 13oz! His progress in feeding and weight gain has been outstanding, leaving his pediatrician (and his parents) very, very pleased.
