Back before the last Presidential election I had opted to shy away - TopicsExpress

Back before the last Presidential election I had opted to shy away from politics on my timeline as a way of accentuating the positive and denouncing the negative. I had been largely successful, focusing more on my business lines and working more on the Personal and Professional Development emphasis than on the grimy world of politics that I studied in college. Sadly I have fallen victim to that scourge of all that is good in mankind, fatigue; both mental and physical. I posted a few NJ politics related things and then reflected on them (as I toil away on a customer related problem I have to solve before business day starts at 6AM [ugh]). I realized that it was beginning again, the non-science of politics was taking up a bit more real estate in my news feed and I was starting to let my trackers put more articles in front of me. The next I knew I was actually posting stories and considering scheduling posts for the future about corruption and cronyism in my home state. I did so in a similar way to people falling back on memes and emoticons do so as to not have to write out their own feelings or ideas. It is shorthand for words and thoughts and frustrations about the sad state of affairs I see around me and the people profiting and once again being commended for being shining examples of effective policy making. Generally, politics in The State of NJ and specifically in The City of Trenton where I live has been a dirty, sickening pool of past lies, deceits, corruptions, and scandals over the last few years (ha decades but whos counting). On the State level it is only going to get worse before it gets better because it is all just now unfolding. City wide, the mad scramble to fill a leadership vacuum that has plagued the populace for more than the last four years will become a whirling dervish before it concludes. Sadly to me, todays crooked power brokers are no better or worse than the hundreds before them. My problem is that I have to sift through their noisy mess to craft my messages of progress and positivity to share with my tribes. I have to keep my mind clear of the insanity in order to move my self and those around me forward but it is pretty hard when the powers that be shouldnt ... be in power. I can not promise that I will remain totally neutral on the political messes that amass from living in these times and in these places but I hope to be able to temper some of that with the greater message of encouragement and success that my mentors have instilled in me. Reflecting on their wisdom I say to you - Lets all be Thinkers and Doers of the Wisest Words We All Know Today. Leave the muck raking and the back stabbing and the bid rigging to the other guys. Keep your eyes on them but do not let their actions nor inaction take over your thoughts. And now, just because it makes me laugh ....
