Back from the Swindon sportive after a 5am start. Congratulations to Anneke and Geri for setting strong times, and to Geri for completing her first sportive - a real toughie. It was lovely to see Taff down there too, armed with all-seeing camera :). After desperately hanging on to a fast group at the start (read: lazy drafting) and paying the price in the last 12 miles in the rain, I managed to stay upright to squeak a gold time by 8 minutes. A big thanks to Southern Sportive for a brilliantly-organised event. A fitting last big ride on my faithful Trek; the Van Nicholas Chinook build is half done and will soon be assuming the role of best bike. connect.garmin/activity/328867555
