Back from the elk hunting trip! Nothing like 4 nights and 5 days of trying to walk in 2 to 3 feet of snow up and down the side of steep hills and heavy dark pine and aspen growth to restore your sanity. Nothing like sleeping in subfreezing temps and getting cold, wet and hungry to make you think about the important things in life. Why do some of us do this? 1. I guess we are slow learners. 2. We need this and love it! Being cold, wet, hungry, working so hard to breathe that it makes you feel like you are suffocating, and smelling like an old goat....well it was really fun except getting stuck in a snow bank and working all day to get out of it was not so fun. Nope...didnt shoot an elk and didnt fire a single round! I gotta find a better hunting ground or just stay home next year.
