Back home and recovering from 22 hours in the air and in airports. The Navy ad that says “It’s not just a job, it’s an adventure” does not lie. Teaching began at 6 am and the last class ended at 10 pm. Shared a room with 2 guys and the head down the passageway with God only knows how many, BUT I visited Okinawa briefly, from which I flew to the carrier George Washington. Added a carrier landing and take-off to my resume. Had port calls in Hong Kong, Singapore and Pusan Korea. While in Hong Kong, I made a day trip into China. Not bad for an old guy. Beautiful sights, friendly people and fabulous food, but good to be home.
