Back in 76/77 when I first got into Punk, we didnt take it that seriously at all, it was just about the music, creating your own style and sticking 2 fingers up to authority, and if you were lucky getting a girl. Society however, took it seriously, they regarded us a threat to the morale wellbeing of the nation with church and councils lining up to attack us and ban us. We didnt care how hard they raged, their opinions never mattered to us, this is the punk ideal that is shown dying in Chris Ward s amazing film Camberwell Beauty .And this BrassTacks documentary, with its panel of experts and interviews with those at the Electric Circus shows in a way how seriously they took us, the ones that really didnt give a damn.
