Back in Barnes from China - here we can see a bright blue sky which is not possible in China where it has been banished behind a haze of smog and pollution. Rapid economic development is very impressive but less so when it blocks out the sun. We enjoyed it though and it is impossible not to be impressed by so much energy and proud and sudden modernity. From Shanghai to Beijing by train in five and a half hours, cruising at 250 kilometres an hour! We are glad to be back and in the saddle with Blabmate though - China blocks out Google, Twitter and Facebook as well as the sun so we couldnt really keep up whilst we were away.
