Back to School in one week... School bags are packed...uniforms are ready...and pep talk done. Sat both of my kids down last night and spoke to them about some of their fears, concerns and things they are looking forward too this school year. Spoke to them about what part of the curriculum they plan to do better in and made sure they new what was expected of them. I also made it a point to express that a new school year may also bring new friends to their grade and the feelings of fear and anxiety are probably doubled by them Ive tried to make them understand that being considerate of others is very important. They should welcome new faces by saying hello, smiling, introducing themselves and including them in activities or recess. Kindness is very important and showing alittle bit of it can change someones day. After our talk, I guess things settled in my childrens heads cause they came to me.... Hugged me tight.. Kissed my cheek and said that I was the best mom because I am always there for them. Its moments like a simple conversation that you see how a parent can easily mould a child.
