Stefanie Dawn Likens of Gate City, VA was born in Big Stone Gap, VA on Monday, December 1, 1986 and passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at her home after a long battle with ALS, at the age of 26 years. She had worked as a manager at McDonalds then went into health care as a CNA for Frontier Health. She had attended Mountain Empire Community College and had several degrees. Stefanie had been in the R.O.T.C. in school and was of the Pentecostal Faith. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Otis Johnson.Stefanie is survived by her husband Jeremy Altizer of Richlands, VA, her mother Debra Likens of Gate City, VA and her father Faron Likens of Nashville, TN, one brother Bryan Likens of Gate City, VA, mother and father-in-law Priscilla and Brittain Russ of Richlands, VA and her faithful companion, her dog Gabby. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Robert Moore officiating.Visitation will be from 1:00 PM Thursday until the time of the service.Condolences can be sent to the family by e-mail to condolences@provincefuneralhome We are located at 42098 E.
