Backpass, December 1 English In an era where good knowledge of sports medicine and science is a key component of football development and even coaching, head of physiotherapy services of the sports medicine center of the sports ministry, Dr Dipo Odunuga has claimed that club coaches across the land know little or nothing of the subject or its application. According to him, the situation is so bad that it greatly hampers their training methods. Meanwhile, veteran coach of Bayelsa United, Solomon Ogbeide who also doubles as Secretary of the Nigerian Coaches Association, has risen in defence of club coaches in the land, insisting that they are not completely ignorant of sports science or medicine. According to him, a good number of local trainers know the subject and its application.
