Baihaqi reported on d authority of Salman Al-Farsi (RA) that prophet (SAW) delivered a sermon on d last day of d month of shaaban. In it he (SAW) said; O people d month of Allah (Ramadan) has come with its mercies, blessings & 4givenesses. Allah has decreed this month d best of all months. D days of dis month are d best among d days & d nights are d best among d nights & d hours during Ramadan are d best among d hours. Dis is a month in which u have been invited by Him (2 fast & pray). Allah has honoured u in it. In every breath u take is a reward of Allah, ur sleep is worship, ur good deeds are accepted & ur invocations are answered. There4, u must invoke ur Lord in all earnestness with hearts free from sin & evil, & pray dat Allah may help u 2 keep fast, & 2 recite d Holy Quaran. Indeed! Miserable is d one who is deprived of Allahs 4giveness in dis great month. While fasting remember d hunger & thirst on d Day of Judgement. Give alms 2 d poor & needy. Pay respect 2 ur elders, have sympathy 4 ur youngsters & b kind 2wards ur relatives & kinsmen. Guard ur tongue against unworthy words, & ur eyes from scenes dat are not worth seeing (forbiden) & ur ears from sounds dat should not b heard. B kind 2 orphans so dat if ur children may bcome orphans they will also b treated with kindness. Do repent 2 Allah 4 ur sins & supplicate with raised hands at d times of prayer as these are d best times, during which Allah Almighty looks at His servants with mercy. Allah Answers if they supplicate. Respons if they call. Grants if He is asked, & Accept if they call, Grants if He is asked, & Accepts if they entreat. O people u have made ur conscience d slave of ur desires.
