Bar BC Ranch parent company HILLWOOD DEVELOPMENT honors the military at Circle T Ranch. More than 1,400 people gathered at Circle T Ranch last Saturday as Hillwood hosted its largest Memorial Day picnic to date in honor of our armed forces and their service. Hillwood welcomed hundreds of families from Sheppard Air Force Base, the 457th Unit and the FAA, as well as an unprecedented number of elected officials, including Congresswoman Kay Granger and Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price who gave remarks during the program. Other elected officials in attendance included Congressman Marc Veasey, State Senator Kelly Hancock, State Rep. Tan Parker, Mayor Scooter Gierisch of Roanoke, Mayor Laura Wheat and Town Manager Tom Brymer of Westlake, Mayor Bob Golden of Haslet, Town of Northlake Administrator Drew Corn, Denton County Judge Mary Horn and Fort Worth City Councilmember Danny Scarth. Ross Perot, Jr. recognized Colonel Charles Klinge, General (Ret.) T. Michael Moseley, USAF and Colonel Richard Muraski, Jr. for their unwavering leadership and service in the military. Mr. Perot, Sr. gave a moving speech about the importance of Memorial Day and how he continues to humbly help those in the military facing medical challenges. The program also featured special remarks from Gen. T. Michael (Ret.) Moseley, USAF, an T-6 Texan flyby, a Stearman flyby by Col. (Ret.) Tom Henricks and a performance of the national anthem by his wife, Rebecca Henricks. Pastor Bill Ramsey of the Met Church led the invocation before guests enjoyed a barbeque lunch. The Sheppard Squadron Commander, Col. Lance “Gipper” Bunch presented a gift to the Perot family for hosting the picnic. Hillwood also demonstrated its support for the military by serving as a corporate sponsor for Carry The Load, a 20-hour Memorial Day relay event honoring the American heroes that work tirelessly to keep us safe each and every day. Several Hillwood associates volunteered to “carry the load” in the 2,000-mile relay, which comprises 348 legs from West Point, NY to Dallas, TX. Carry The Load is a non-profit with a vision to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day by connecting Americans to the sacrifices of our military, law enforcement, firefighters and rescue personnel. Thank you to all of our Hillwood associates who worked hard to make this year’s Memorial Day picnic a success, and a special thank you to all of our military members and veterans who have served our country. mpany, Hillwood honors the military.
