Barely two hours after presenting myself to the team at Chiltern - TopicsExpress

Barely two hours after presenting myself to the team at Chiltern Hospital, and I am home with a large coffee (OK, and a cigar)... I got there early, registered, was taken to my room, changed into the funny socks/knickers and gown with the ties on the back. I was asked for my meals choice for lunch, dinner and tomorrows breakfast and was given my choice of morning paper to read while waiting. I logged into the hospitals Wi-Fi, plugged in the charger and generally made myself at home. Then a nurse came to take my blood pressure - 156, down 10 from the pre-op assessment reading a week ago. But then the anesthetist came in and she said that she was a little concerned because my ECG had shown some departures from the norm; and as she knew that I had been to the Sleep Clinic for apnoea, she suggested that I wait to hear the results of that first (appointment in December), take whatever they give me (mask most likely), and then get in touch with her again in the new year to see what we will do. And the surgeon also came in, re-examined my Warthins lump and said that there is no rush, especially since the lump has not grown further in the last 4 months - we could just put it on a watch. So I got dressed again, had a lovely cup of free coffee, unplugged the phone, took the free newspaper and came home, somewhat relieved, a little concerned about the ECG but overall in a positive mood. I couldnt have planned a better test for seeing who cared :-) Seriously, thanks everyone for your best wishes, and those who didnt comment or like are off my Christmas list (joking!). Hey-ho, I spose Ill have to work tomorrow, then!
