Barnaby Joyce, the minister for agriculture, is a very busy man, - TopicsExpress

Barnaby Joyce, the minister for agriculture, is a very busy man, according to his office. He doesnt have time to reply to comments, emails, or any correspondence from people who have legitimate concerns about the live export trade. He prefers to ignore them, and characterise such people with simplistic, highly unedified generalisations. Apparently, he doesn’t have the time to find out exactly who these people are; if he did, he would learn that he is wrong to classify them as he does. However, it seems he has plenty of time to masquerade as an ordinary citizen calling in to the ABC’s Radio National program to voice his opinion on what a bogan is, and whether or not a class structure exists in Australia. Obviously, and perhaps understandably, given the bogan element this ‘topic’, this is a matter which seems to evoke considerable passion on his part. It certainly seems to have a far higher level of priority for him than does the issue of cruelty to animals in the live export trade. But what should the priorities of the Agriculture Minister, who is in our pay, actually be? As a footnote to this post, judging by his voiced opinion, we have to wonder about his grasp on the make up of the Australian people; to suggest, as he does, that RN listeners are elitist, gives some insight into the shallow, bigoted process he obviously adopts in formulating his conceptions of people. According to Barney’s view, it seems most workers with tool bags are bogans. abc.net.au/news/2014-03-14/barnaby-on-bogans/5321458
