Barony input sought: Last night at Curia we brought forward to the Barony a proposal to adopt the Kingdoms new site fee policy regarding children 17 and under free. Under this policy we would do away with the Family Cap, and children 17 and under would be free. There are a few benefits of this program, the first being increasing activity and participation of families at events. (When you have more than one child, events become very expensive) The second benefit, as mentioned by both our Baronial Exchequer and the Kingdom Exchequer, is the the gate paper work. Trying to sort out the family cap amounts AND the actual number of people who attended the events has been a problem and takes a lot of time for them to sort out. This would alleviate that problem. This policy was adopted by the Kingdom at July Coronation, and will be in effect at all Kingdom events starting Sept. Crown. Branches are NOT required by the Kingdom to adopt this plan. However...this plan has been in effect in the Barony of Stromgard the last year, and they have had great success with it. Will this effect our bottom financial line of events? Good question!! We have looked past events, like Emprise of the Black Lion, and compared what the old plan and new plan would look like. In the case of the Emprise last year...it would mean a total loss to the profits of only $70. However...this could potentially be offset by an increase in attendance by families. It is our believe that in the end we will balance to even, at the least. It is Our goal to grow our Barony and increase the participation of those already in Our Barony. We believe this will greatly help towards that goal. Please email your thoughts to the Baron and Baroness, the Seneschal and the Exchequer (Email addresses Below: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Thank you for you input Stefan and Emmelina, Baron and Baroness of Mighty Madrone
